I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream for Ice Cream!

Just got back from the annual SCOOPERBOWL, to benefit the Jimmy Fund, and take a good look at that picture. That, my friends, is about how many scoops of ice cream I put down tonight.

Now, I'd love to give the excuse that I ate so much because it's charity, but we all know that's not the case. C'mon people, this is a recession! And in a recession, you get your money's worth. So.I.Did. So there!

Here's a list of all the flavors being offered - I confess to have sampled at least 90 percent of these. Hands down, Ben & Jerry's had the BEST flavors. Oatmeal Cookie Chunk, Strawberry Cheesecake, Goodbye Yellow Brickle Road and Chocolate Macadamia - oh boy, my mouth is watering all over again just thinking about it!

There are a few things I absolutely love about Boston, and this is definitely going on the list. I can't wait to go back next year!

I Wish I Had My Camera This Weekend

It was the perfect weekend for us and I didn't bring my camera. So, in lieu of me being forgetful, I downloaded pictures of the places we were to show you my weekend.

Ashley's roof deck - last year's party. Only the outfit changed since then. Scenery hasn't changed a bit.
Next day, picnic in Boston Commons. Only it rained on us - twice. We were soaked, but it was awesome.Singing Beach, Manchester-by-the-Sea. Perfect. There is nothing better after getting soaked in the rain one day to get baked by the sun the next.

After a day at the beach, Capt. Dusty's Ice Cream. Nothing better than a giant scoop of Rocky Road Ice Cream.

*Thanks to all those who posted these photos on Google Images for me to download and show a picture montage of my perfect weekend in Boston.

Under Pressure

I've been feeling the pressure lately, as nine -yes, NINE - of my friends/acquaintances/colleagues got engaged since Christmas. Now don't get me wrong, I am excited for every one of them, but the pressure has really gotten to me.

During this time it occurred to me that I would crack like fine China if I had to endure this pressure under the ever-watchful eyes of the papparazzi. I mean, take Johnny Depp and his partner of 10 years, Vanessa Paradis. They have 2 kids, have been together an eternity - by Hollywood standards - and are just content. She doesn't "need a piece of paper to say we're together" and presents a brave face whenever she's asked why they haven't "made it official."

In my situation, I've cried. No brave face, just tear-stained cheeks. I'm blessed with a great partner, we have our life, our two "kids" and things are on the right track. But I am very aware that our friends are getting engaged all around us and we're not there yet.

I need to count my blessings and let things come naturally, but if I have to hear one more time that someone else I know is engaged, I'm likely to cut off all communication and sooth my nerves with multiple pints of Ben & Jerry's.
